I have completed over 20 in-depth interviews with HR technology vendors to understand their AI strategy. And as I explained in the video below, I believe the results will be amazing. Not only are vendors revamping their offerings, but new AI-centric systems have completely different architectures, user interfaces, and designs.
While it’s still early days, I believe AI (and generative AI in particular) will dramatically change the HR tech landscape. Not just systems Smart by designThey will have powerful conversational user interfaces, follow many AI models, and new challenges will appear.
As I discuss below, I see vendors in three categories: those that are completely AI-centric in their approach (often led by PhD AI engineers and scientists); AI that adds “features” to existing systems; And they don’t know what to do.
This over time A new technology platform (See AI as a A new technology platform(meaningful as cloud and mobile) help us reinvent what HR technology does. And this new era of HR Tech will be more relevant, more relevant and more “integrated” than ever.
And in addition to the changes we’re seeing in HR Tech products and interfaces comes another new capability: the ability to see how many HR (and management practices) “piecemeals” are coming together. An integrated AI-centric HCM system should help us practice what we call strategic HR: understanding the role of skills, culture, diversity, compensation and other factors in hiring, development, internal mobility, job design, productivity and growth.
We will continue to explore these changes with suppliers, and I look forward to speaking with you to understand your perspectives.
