Hatisburg, WDAM – As you grow older, you will often hear children say that they hope to one day become a doctor or a lawyer. But a young Hatisburg girl wants to be an artist.

Twelve-year-old Shanti Woodward earned even a few extra dollars and took the lead.

The young artist said that she admired the sound of the paintbrush, beating the canvas and saying that it was a peaceful melody. And for four hours a day, she would brush her back and forth, drawing everything that came to mind.

“It’s based on my thinking,” Wudder said.

Her brilliant imagination has helped her draw many pieces, such as the human eye, sketches, and even images. She gives each picture a different look.

Crystal Price’s mother, Crystal Price, said: “She had a picture and I loved it. “I love them all, but this girl was the one who came out of the water, and she had sunflower eyes. And, it was similar to the amazing things I’ve seen so far. Like, how did you create this?”

Waga introduced art and crafts while her daughters were in two different places. However, Wudder was the only one who stuck with her and eventually turned her hobby into a crafty business called Crafty Mermaid.

Widder says it was good to have her own business when she was 12 years old.

Her mother, Crafty Mermaid, posted a Facebook page and the business has been booming lately. The competition has so far sold more than 30 paintings and exported some of them.

“She just started shipping, so the first two were Ohio, and the most recent was Illinois,” Price said. “So she’s coming.”

Price believes that as long as parents are happy, it is important to support their children.

Wudder says she wants all children to remember “never give up and always try hard in life.”
