On Sunday, Google’s office in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) said at 7:54 pm that a bomb was detonated in the company’s Pune office on the 11th floor of a multi-storied commercial building in Mandhawa area. The official said.
Mumbai Police have arrested the person who made the bomb threat calls at the Pune office of Google. The caller identified as Panayam Shivanand from Hyderabad called the BKC office in Mumbai. According to Mumbai police, the caller threatened to plant a bomb at the tech giant’s Pune office.
Mumbai Police has booked the accused for making threatening calls. Police are currently investigating the case and gathering more information.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone V) Vikrant Deshmukh said, “The office on the 11th floor of a multi-storied commercial building in Pune Mundwa area received a call on Sunday evening that a bomb had been planted in the office premises.
After being alerted, the police rushed to the Google Pune office with a bomb detection and disposal team. A report published by PTI said the force conducted extensive searches.
“The call later turned out to be fake. The caller was traced to Hyderabad and arrested. It is said that he made the call in a state of exhaustion.
What motivated Panayam Shivanand to make the threatening call is currently unclear.
The caller was drunk when he called the BKC office at 7.54 pm on Sunday.A bomb was caught in the office on the 11th floor of a multi-storied commercial building in Mudhawa area.
The company officials filed a complaint with the BKC police under Sections 505(1)(b) (with intent to create or likely to create threat or danger to the public) and 506 (criminal intimidation).
An official told PTI that the Mumbai police had shared more information with their counterparts in Pune and alerted the bomb detection and disposal team and carried out a search on the spot.

He added that further investigation is underway in the matter.
