WEST LIBERTY, W.Va., Aug. 30, 2022 — West Liberty University students Mike Harriman and Cody Dixon-Rushman are back on campus this August with awards to share with the campus.

“The Gary E. West College of Business is proud to announce that these two students competed in four separate events this summer at the national Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) conference,” said Dr. Anne Sarbier, Dean of the College. Business.

Harriman is a finance and accounting major from Wheeling. He placed first in both the Personal Finance and Financial Concepts competitions and came third in the Insurance Concepts competition.

Dixon-Rushman is a cybersecurity and computer information systems major from Shadyside, Ohio, who also serves as vice president of the Student Government Association. Dixon-Rushman placed 4th in the Cyber ​​Security Competition.

The student duo traveled to Chicago in June to compete against regional winners from across the US in their respective competitions. They attended the conference workshops and interacted with other PBL members from across the country.

American-Phi Beta Lambda, Inc. (FBLA-PBL) Future Business Leaders is the largest business and technical student organization in the world, according to its website.

FBLA-PBL inspires and prepares students to become community-minded business leaders in a global society through relevant career preparation and leadership experiences.
