Reedley, CA – Dayka & Hackett, one of Frutura’s major investments in the global fresh fruit business, has hired Stephen Fink as vice president of avocados. Fink, former vice president of North American sales for Mission, will lead the promotion of Dayka and Hackett avocados to the US and international markets.
“This is important and exciting news. Of course for Frutura and its global avocado operations, but most importantly, for customers who want to partner with a company like Frutura and the Daika & Hackett business unit. Our network can provide meaningful collateral in the dynamic avocado space,” he said. said David Krause, CEO of Frutura.
“We now have more than 3mm packages from four different countries, and that will double in four years. And we will continue to look for new investments in avocado farming and packaging operations,” Krause continued. “Dyka and Hackett will be the face of our marketing efforts. He has experience and we look forward to his leadership at Decca and Hackett in this very important category.
Fink will work closely with Dayka & Hackett CEO Tim Dayka on the rollout of the company’s avocado strategy and will be based in Oxnard, CA. “The vertical integration of our avocado program is extremely interesting,” says Fink. “Avocado is clearly a high-profile and high-demand product and it’s comforting to know that we can grow and control a significant percentage of our volume. We’re excited to start working with both new and existing Daika and Hackett customers on this project.”
