Falk College and the Whitman School started two degrees in sports management and business

The Martin J. Whitman School of Management and the David B. Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics are launching a new undergraduate dual degree program to help students pursue growing career opportunities in sports business.

The new undergraduate dual degree program prepares students to become versatile, versatile and future leading thinkers in sports management and business-related careers.

The new undergraduate Sports Management/Business dual degree program is a new program that combines strong business training with in-depth knowledge of the rapidly growing field of sports management. This new dual degree program prepares students to become multidisciplinary, multidisciplinary and future leading thinkers in careers related to various aspects of sports management and business.

This dual degree program is offered in a streamlined format. For the undergraduate dual program, students can complete a minimum of 148 credits and graduate in four years.

“There is a lot of potential for this new dual degree program as the fields of sport and business continue to overlap. We have seen this recently as part of the Student-Athlete Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) regulations; business aspects of sports and related events, merchandising, marketing and entrepreneurship.” ; and the emerging business side of esports, among other areas. It’s really important to make our students stronger interdisciplinary thinkers about these issues,” says Whitman School Interim Dean Alexander McKelvey. “We’re excited to partner with Fox and its amazing sports management program to prepare our students for the future. Let’s hope he continues the dividend.

“Folk College has been a national leader in educating future industry professionals in sports business, marketing and analytics for two decades,” said Falk College Dean Diane Lydon Murphy. “The new undergraduate dual degree program between Folk’s Sports Management program and the highly regarded Whitman School utilizes the synergy between sports management and business disciplines to make students competitive in the job market. By acquiring specialized skills in sports management and business, students will be well-equipped to meet the emerging and emerging sectors of the thriving global sports business.

Admission requirements remain the same for both programs and emphasize both academic credentials and leadership potential. Dual degree programs are highly sought after, and students must have both strong analytical skills and the soft skills needed for leadership positions.
