The Sonoma Valley Chamber of Commerce and the City of Sonoma are pleased to announce the Epicurean Connection as this year’s Earth Day Sustainable Business Honoree!
at 19670 8th Street E. Suite A is an epicurean affair in Sonoma Valley founded by Sheena Davis who believes in sustainability, locally sourced food and simple ingredients. Along with partner Ben Sessions and staff, Epicurean Connection offers hands-on cooking classes, team-building experiences, cooking, private catering, and makes several small-batch award-winning cheeses.
Sonoma Mayor Sandra Lowe and Sonoma Valley Chamber of Commerce CEO Mark Bodenhamer presented Sheana Davis and Ben Sessions with a certificate of recognition for Epicurean Connection’s environmental work for their sustainable business practices, including efforts to source local ingredients, conserve water and become energy efficient. Look for efficient, alternative transportation options for employees and customers, and especially a strong commitment to being a zero-waste business.
When asked what sustainable practices she is most proud of, Sheena Davis said, “Zero-food waste. We donate our surplus food to Farm to Pantry to share with food insecure seniors in the community. We donate an average of 50 meals a week and share our food waste with our local pig and sheep herd. On average, we feed the animals 100 pounds of food waste per week, which equates to zero waste.
The Epicurean Connection warehouse is open every Friday and Saturday from 9 am-12 pm.
