An Eastern North Carolina woman plans to start a trucking business after winning $100,000 with a $5 scratch-off ticket.

A Greenville woman’s vision of starting her own trucking business will come true after winning a $100,000 lottery prize, according to a newspaper press release. North Carolina Education Lottery.

“I’ve had it on my vision board for years,” Kendra Brown said. “It’s great to see it come true.”

Brown, 36, bought a $5 lottery ticket from Speedway on South Memorial Drive in Greenville. She then took the ticket to her car and began scratching it.

“I started seeing all those little zeros,” she recalls. “I know it’s a great reward when the print comes out.”

Brown has been a truck driver for years and is excited about the opportunity to start her own trucking company. “It’s definitely a great opportunity,” Brown said.

Brown arrived at lottery headquarters on March 13, 2023 to collect her prize and took home $70,602 after required state and federal tax deductions.
