The East Precinct Neighborhood Response Team continues to conduct missions to solve crimes that impact livelihoods, including retail theft. On Tuesday, March 21, 2023, Eastern crews with PPB’s air support unit, K9 units and Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office Transit Police conducted patrols around businesses in the Menlo Park neighborhood between Southeast Stark Street and Northeast San Rafael. Avenue, and northeast between 117th Avenue and 126th Avenue.

This mission has brought high visibility to the area, and transit police are very active and visible on the MAX line along 122nd Avenue as officers visit many businesses.

Several vehicle drivers escaped from the police and the passengers in the vehicle escaped on foot. With the help of the air support unit, the police managed to capture 100 percent of these escapees.

The mission contacted 32 subjects and 30 vehicles, resulting in 26 arrests (15 on felony charges and 17 on misdemeanor charges). It also includes:

– 17 criminal warrants have been served
– 15 criminal warrants are served

– 6 vehicles escaped
-7 subjects escaped on foot

– 3 stolen vehicles were seized
– 3 vehicles were towed
-2 Illegal weapons were seized

The day started in the morning with a roll call with members of Menlo Trade Association. This is an example of community policing working with community members and law enforcement to help make the community safer.
