D&K Boutique brings fashion-forward events to Rancho Santa Fe Village

Local realtors Kaki Wenstrom of Sotheby’s Pacific and Deloreen Jackson of Compass teamed up to create D&K, a fashion and lifestyle destination in the heart of Rancho Santa Fe Village. The two real estate mavens work for different companies but have always respected each other as trusted local agents. Together, they share a passion for timeless style and the importance of community.

The entrepreneurial couple met when Jackson came to visit Wenstrom’s new property under construction at the Ranch. They realize they both have the same vision to revitalize the village, and when Jackson learns about Wenstrom’s fashion history, the wheels start turning.

Wenstrom grew up in the Covenant and moved to the East Coast after college, where she gained experience as director of sales and weddings at the Ritz Carlton in Boston and managing a fashion boutique in Philadelphia.

“It came together very organically,” Wenstrom said. “We both sell real estate in the Ranch and people come from different areas buying homes. To give them what they deserve, we have to give them that town.”

The two opened the D&K boutique in 2010. In November 2022, they dreamed up a property owned by Jackson and became a reality in December. “Our whole vision was this lifestyle,” Wenstrom said, beyond the bank and real estate offices. Last year, DeLorean and Bob Jackson owned Village Places Somich Design, The Household Co.

D&K Boutique features hand-picked designer clothing, jewelry and handbags. They aim for uniqueness and are constantly evolving – they carry everything from club and court to pick-up ball clothing and children’s clothing from classic prep. The goal is to change often and keep the item fresh, so every time you pop in, something new catches the eye.

Once a month, the boutique hosts an event with big names in lifestyle and fashion, such as Jonathan Simkhai, Jane Winchester Paradis of Jane Wynn Jewelry, and Meredith Melling, founder of Laline. D&K Events is led by local event planner and personal concierge C’est Trop Beau, and their courtyard space lends itself beautifully to events—fashion shows and meetings lit by string lights and outdoor lanterns.

On Friday, May 19 from 5-7pm, D&K will host an event featuring Vogue magazine’s Creative Director and Continuity Editor, Tone Goodman. Goodman will sign and discuss her book “Point of View.” Next month they hope to feature local Rancho Santa Fe designer Luciana Emilia.

Recently, D&K also teamed up with another pair of young Rancho Santa Fe residents and young entrepreneurs, Sophie Spear and Maggie Meyer. Wennstrom ran into the girls selling their custom cookies on the weekend and hired them to make their custom decorated sugar cookies at one of the cars and coffee events in the village and D&K’s pop-up event.

Sophie and Maggie have since made cookies for several D&K events (like butterfly cookies for Jane Winn’s pop-up), as well as Wenstrom’s most recent event at the Solana Beach property, designed to look like a miniature version of the house, complete with a classic red Dutch door.

The girls were tapped to make cookies for the May event with Goodman.

“We’re excited to have this platform for these little girls to create,” said Wenstrom, to inspire their entrepreneurial spirit and encourage them to never be afraid to follow their dreams.

D&K is located at 6012 Paseo Delicas and is open Monday through Friday 10 am to 4 pm and Saturday by appointment. Visit dkcurated.com/ for more information.
