Union Statement: OSHA’s Dallas and Fort Worth area offices and the Better Business Bureau have signed an alliance to educate employers and employees about workplace hazards. Alliance partners provide information, guidance and training resources to construction and general industry employers to protect worker safety and health. The union promotes better understanding of workers’ rights and employers’ responsibilities under the Occupational Safety and Health Act.
Background: The OSHA Alliance Program works with groups dedicated to worker safety and health to prevent workplace injuries, injuries and illnesses. These groups include associations, consulates, trade or professional organizations, businesses, faith and community-based organizations, and educational institutions. OSHA and its teams work together to develop compliance assistance tools and resources, share information with workers and employers, and educate workers and employers about their rights and responsibilities.
Quote: “OSHA’s partnership with the Better Business Bureau will greatly improve the health and safety awareness of business owners and the organization they work with,” said Basil Singh, OSHA’s regional director in Dallas.
“This alliance will allow OSHA to provide outreach opportunities to members of the Better Business Bureau covering 47 counties in the Dallas and Fort Worth area,” added Timothy Miner, OSHA Area Director in Fort Worth.
