In this week’s product hack episode that inspired me to shop Tik Tok, I’m talking all about jelly slide heels — specifically, Target’s new Mad Love Marni Jelly Slide Heels ($30), which have not only taken social media by storm, but earned a permanent spot in my closet.

You’ve probably seen a lot of undeniably cute jelly slide heels floating around your TikTok feed over the past few months, usually from some of today’s top designer brands. Amidst a resurgence of ’90s fashion trends and an array of celebrities embracing the jelly shoe, the Polly Pocket-esque style was at its peak — and it’s predicted to take a turn for the better this fall. The latest Barbiecore obsession.

While I’m tempted to invest in my own pair of jelly shoes, I’m not interested in the more popular styles, especially the higher price points. Then TikTok (aka Jen Z’s crystal ball for fashion trends) pointed me to the perfect jelly-slide dupe from my retailer, Target. It’s almost a perfect copy of the $30 style B. Those Famous jelly slide heel. And when I found out that they were also available to shop in three chic colorways (bonus!), I panicked and headed to Target before they sold out and knew I had to try the shoes on for myself.

Read on for my honest thoughts on these stylish, jelly-slide-heel dupes from Target.

What I love about these jelly slide heels

The short answer is I just love a good dupe. And after months of searching for an affordable jelly slide heel that could compete with TikTok’s designer styles, I’m happy to report that this one delivers.

But the answer is that there are very few things. Don’t do it Like these jelly shoes. The chic style offers a rectangular design, which helps to give the shoe a more expressive structure. Since the sandals are made from a plastic, rubber-like material rather than any kind of fabric composition, they are very easy to keep clean, which promises to be a staple shoe in my closet for years to come.

And perhaps best of all: the price point. I can wear one of the most fashionable shoes of the season for only 30 dollars And Also, stock up on multiple colors (because the patent black style ($30) is already on my radar).

How do these jelly slide shoes feel?

When people hear the word “jelly” in a brand name, they may feel overwhelming or overwhelmed. I’ll be the first to admit, it’s not like Target’s new Jelly Slide Heels — or really any other jelly shoes, for that matter. This particular style is made from a plastic, rubber-like composition that is much denser and actually creates a more hard-shell structure. It certainly doesn’t have the same recovery properties as jelly, but it’s still very comfortable.

Given how different the outsole is, I doubt I’ll be able to wear these shoes all day. But so far I’ve been pleasantly surprised. From running on the weekends to enjoying a late night dinner with my girlfriends and even going out for a few day trips, these jelly slides have proven to provide ample support and comfort even on my longest days outdoors.

A few other reviewers recommend buying the shoe at least a half size up because the fit is on the wide side. I personally bought the shoes in my normal size and they fit perfectly, but if you have narrower feet, this is definitely something to consider when buying jelly shoes.

Who are these jelly slide heels the best?

These sneakers are perfect for anyone looking to hit the big shoe trend of the season without spending too much money on the product. I love experimenting with new fashions as much as the next person, but I don’t want to settle for a style that I’m not entirely sure will still be relevant next season. The great thing about these Jelly Slides is that you can enjoy a refreshed shoe style while still being fresh and avoid any extra post-purchase guilt due to the $30 price tag.

In addition, the shoe offers a lot of style versatility. I religiously wear them with a classic white t-shirt and a pair of jeans for a more relaxed daytime look. The slides also pair beautifully with many other transitional styles such as midi dresses, skirts and even a few jumpsuits.
