Collida Strada: Reimagining Fashion

Hilary Taymor has always seen herself as a trouble maker. “Now I feel like I’m using that problem for good,” she said. Her brand, the small but mighty Colina Strada, is upending power hierarchies and creative ways in fashion with a focus on people and the planet. For Taymor, it’s a journey of sustainability – free from the tired greenwashing and pretentious ethics and instead doing the hard work of questioning the creative process at every step.

Produced in small batches in New York, Colina Strada is known for innovative cycling techniques, using sustainable fabrics and innovative low-impact materials. The brand is partnering with the Orr Foundation, a Ghana-based second-hand textile market that sees over 25 million garments sold every month, 40% of which are bound for landfills or oceans. The team combines these fabrics to create luxurious garments that can be highly transformed to create a “fearless fluid attitude”.
