MITCHELL – City officials issued a no-travel advisory Wednesday night due to heavy snow and strong wind gusts in Mitchell.

According to the Mitchell Police Department, many streets in residential areas are becoming impassable. Officials advise not to travel during the advisory.

City snow plow crews try to maintain emergency roads in the final hours of the storm that began Tuesday night.

In the city’s travel advisory, it calls the ongoing storm a “dangerous storm,” and residents should avoid traveling if possible. Officers will only respond to emergency calls during this time, city officials said.
