Challengers are poised to fend off the feds’ attempts to overturn the travel vaccine mandate.

Those challenging the mandatory travel vaccinations will go before a federal court judge on September 21 to continue their cases and not be labeled “defendants” as the attorney general has argued.

“Canada was one of the few countries in the world to impose a travel ban on unvaccinated citizens flying into and out of the country. This travel ban has not been lifted, only suspended, and therefore the court action must continue,” his lawyer, Eva Chipiuk, said in a statement.

Chipiuk works with the legal advocacy group the Judicial Center for Constitutional Freedoms (JCCF), which represents the applicants in two lawsuits. One includes People’s Party leader Maxime Bernier and the other includes former Newfoundland premier Brian Peckford and five co-applicants.

Although the mandate is not currently in place, Chipyuk wants a court that can review Charter rights violations if the government wants to bring back powers in the future.

Other challengers to the mandate include businessmen Carl Harrison and Shawn Rickard, who first filed suit in December 2021, and self-represented Quebec lawyer Nabil Belkacem.

“We hope the court agrees with us that the issue of Justin Trudeau’s travel vaccination order is far from sensational,” Harrison told The Epoch Times.

They cited a government statement announcing the lifting of the measures, which said the duties were only “suspended” and could be withdrawn if necessary.
