Augusta-area disaster response, recovery businesses recognized

Anthony Wolverton, owner of SERVPRO Augusta/Waterville, received the Millionaire Gold Award during SERVPRO’s 53rd Annual Convention July 5-9 at the Hilton Anatole Dallas in Dallas, Texas.

This high-performing entrepreneur joins a group of over 1,050 franchise owners in attendance. The event recognized 58 SERVPRO entrepreneurs who earned more than $1 million in revenue for the first time in the previous business year, according to a SERVPRO news release.

Golden Pond Wealth Management welcomes a new member

WATERVILLE – Chelsea Oliver has joined Golden Pond Wealth Management as a communications manager.

She comes to the company after five years as a math teacher at Messalonskee Middle School. She grew up on Lake Messalonskee and now lives in Oakland. She is a middle school soccer coach and hosts a podcast for teenage girls called “Light the Way.” Oliver also volunteers for the ShineOnCass Foundation, according to a news release from the financial planning firm.

Skowhegan Savings will hire two new employees.

Squeagan Savings announces the promotion of Aaron Rich to the bank’s commercial lending group as vice president, commercial lending and Angel Quick to vice president, treasury and business services officer, according to a news release from the institution.

A native of Vermont, Rich comes to the bank with over 16 years of banking experience, including People’s United Bank and Kennebunk Savings. He looks forward to working with Community Focused Maine Bank to help local business lending needs out of the Bank’s Portland Business Center in Southern Maine.

“We are pleased to welcome Aaron to our commercial lending team,” said Greg Legier, vice president and regional commercial banking manager for the bank’s Portland Business Center. “He has extensive experience in commercial lending throughout New England, which we know will be valuable to our commercial clients, and we look forward to having him join the Portland community.”

A graduate of Champlain College in Burlington, Vermont, Rich has always enjoyed vacationing in Maine and moved here permanently a year ago. In previous locations, he has been active in the community and looks forward to doing the same in the greater Portland area. Rich lives in Kennebunk with his wife and children.

Quick was promoted to vice president of treasury and business services officer at the bank. She assists the bank’s commercial clients with deposits statewide. Most recently, Quick was an assistant vice president at Community Bank of Central, Eastern and Northern Maine. In the year She started with the bank as a cashier in 1999 and has held several positions within the bank in customer service and branch management.

“As a community banker, Angel has always provided the highest level of customer service to our clients, and we look forward to her in her new role as she works closely with our commercial lending team and 12 branches to help our business customers through them,” said Dan Tilton, senior vice president of sales and customer service.

Quick is chairman of the Sebasticook Valley Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Dexter Sun Rice Kiwanis, a member of the Corinna Budget Committee and a corporator of the Plummer Memorial Foundation. She lives in Corinna with her husband.

Kennebec Savings Bank has hired a senior vice president and chief human resources officer.

AUGUSTA – Kennebec Savings Bank President and CEO Andrew Silsby has announced the hiring of Chris Avery as Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer.

Avery joins the bank with over 25 years of human resources experience in financial services, higher education and the airline industry. She most recently served as Chief Human Resources Officer and Associate Vice President of St. Joseph’s College, overseeing the development and implementation of the college’s human resources strategy. She served as senior vice president of human resources at Financial Institutions Services Corp., where she was responsible for managing all human resources operations and managing customer relations functions, according to the bank’s news release.

“I am excited to join the Kennebec Savings team and serve our employees in this HR leadership role,” he said. “The bank has a long history of investing in its people as an employer of choice. This opportunity allowed me to strategically grow HR by aligning HR with the business plan with a focus on recruitment and retention, building the talent pipeline and shaping the future of our workforce to support Kennebec Savings Bank’s continued growth.

Avery is an advanced professional in human resources, holding dual certifications as SPHR through the Human Resources Certification Institute and SHRM-SCP through Community Human Resource Management. She is a board member of Northeast Delta Dental and Maine Delta Dental Plan, where she chairs the Corporate Governance Committee. She also serves on the SHRM Maine State Council Board. Avery in 2010 He was inducted into the Maine Human Resources Hall of Fame in 2011 and was recognized as Maine’s 2010 Human Resources Leader of the Year.
