(CNN) – The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention updated its travel notification page for Covi-19 on Tuesday. Only two new locations in Africa have joined the “high-risk” category.

But perhaps the news that deserves more attention this week is that the two destinations in the stubborn top Europe have dropped to a “moderate” threat.

Scandinavian Cultural Power Sweden and Eastern Europe, two of the world’s most endangered continents, have two bright spots on the continent.

Level 3 “High” risk category is currently the highest level of risk. Stage 2 is considered a “moderate” risk. Stage 1 is a “low” risk.

Stage 4, a previously high-risk category, is now reserved for special circumstances, such as overcrowding, new stress differences, or poor health care infrastructure. Under the new system, no destination has been set for level 4 yet.

The “Level 3 Creed Cove-19 Advanced” category will apply to areas with more than 100 cases per 100,000 residents over the past 28 days. The two destinations that will be joining Level 3 this week

• Botswana
• Cape Verde

Botswana, a landlocked safari, has risen from No. 1 to Cape Verde, on the west coast of the North Atlantic Ocean.

On June 21, there were more than 110 destinations in Stage 3.

Despite the good news in Sweden and Romania, much of Europe has been in a state of disarray for months since the summer. As of June 21, the following popular European destinations are among the remaining Level 3.

• France
• Germany
• Greece
• Ireland
• Italy
• Netherlands
• Norway
• Spain
• united kingdom

But it is not just European favorites who find themselves in the top three.

• Brazil
• Canada
• Costa Rica
• Malaysia
• Mexico
• South Korea
• Thailand

CDC recommends that you be familiar with your CVD-19 vaccine before heading to Step 3. Being “up-to-date” means that you have received not only full immunizations but also incentives to qualify.

Destinations labeled “Level 2: Covid-19 Medium” reported 50 to 100 Covid-19 cases per 100,000 residents in the past 28 days. In total, six places were taken to this stage on Tuesday.

• Ethiopia
• Kenya
• Morocco
• Romania
• Sweden

Unlike the other two European countries, leveling 2 was not good news for Bolivia, Kenya and Morocco.

In its extensive travel guide, CDC recommends that you avoid all international travel until you are fully vaccinated.

Step 1

In order to be in the “Level 1 ኮ Cove-19 Low”, one destination must have 49 or fewer new cases in the last 28 days. On June 21, six destinations scattered around the world were added to the category.

• The Savior
• Fiji
• Guinea
• Moldova
• St. Eustatius
• Tanzania

The move was especially good news for St. Eustatius, a small Dutch island in the Caribbean, in the third tier.

El Salvador, Fiji and Moldova were ranked No. 2 last week, while Africa, Guinea and Tanzania were “unknown”.

Unknown

Finally, there are destinations that CDC considers to be “unknown” due to lack of information. Often, but not always, these are small, remote areas or areas of ongoing war or instability. Four places have been added to this category this week.

• Bhutan
• Comoros
• Democratic Republic of the Congo
• Ghana

The CDC recommends not traveling to these places because the risks are unknown. Other destinations in this category include Cambodia, the Canary Islands, and Macau.

A medical professional weighs in on dangerous levels

According to CNN Medical Analyst Dr. Liana Wayne, the cost of transfer is only “one guideline” for travelers’ personal risk calculation.

According to Wayne, an emergency physician and professor, we have reached the epidemic stage where people have to make their own decisions based on their medical condition and their exposure to the CV-19 contract. According to Wayne, there are other factors to consider in addition to distribution.

“The other thing is to be careful and follow where you are going and then the third one is what you plan to do if you are there,” she said.

“Are you planning to visit a lot of attractions and go to indoor pubs? This is very different from where you plan to sleep on the beach all day and where you plan to stay away from anyone. That’s very different. There are very different levels of risk.”

Vaccines are important for travel, as unvaccinated travelers get sick and transmit CV-19 to others, he said.

And it is important to consider what to do if you do a positive test away from home.

“Of course, if people have symptoms or vulnerabilities while traveling, they should be tested and if they have a positive diagnosis, they should follow CDC exclusion guidelines,” Wayne recently told CNN Travel.
