LAWRENCE – Two new Kansas University School of Business faculty have been named directors of the Management and Entrepreneurship Academic Area and the Analytics, Information and Operations Management (IO) Academic Area.
Brian Anderson, professor of entrepreneurship, has been named director of the school’s management and entrepreneurship academic area. Debabrata “Deb” Day has been named director professor of the Davis AIO area, a position recently named for a $1 million gift from the late Roger Davis and his wife, Julie. Both Anderson and Day joined the business school in July.
Brian Anderson He holds a PhD in Strategic Management from Indiana University’s Kelly School of Business. His research centers on strategic entrepreneurship, focusing on causal perspectives, measurement issues, and the construct of Bayesian entrepreneurial orientation and strategic entrepreneurial behavior. Anderson’s research has appeared in leading entrepreneurship and management journals, and he serves as an Associate Editor for Strategic Entrepreneurship on the editorial boards of the Journal of Business Venturing and Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice.
He previously taught at Western University, the University of Colorado, and the University of Missouri-Kansas City, where he was executive dean of the Bloch School of Management. He has held affiliated appointments at Ghent University, Osaka University of Economics and Beirut University.
Argument “deb” thereThe school’s Ronald G. Harper Professor of Artificial Intelligence and Information Systems received his doctorate in computing and information systems from the Simon School of Business at the University of Rochester. His current primary research interests are in information economics, digital piracy, information security and business analytics. Day’s research has been published in leading information systems and computer science academic journals. He has served as Senior Editor for Information Systems Research and Associate Editors of Management Science, Information Systems Research, MIS Quarterly, INFORMS Journal on Computing, and Information Technology and Management. He is currently Associate Editor of Information Systems Research.
Day was previously the Marion B. Ingersoll Professor of Information Systems at the Washington Graduate School of Business. He was the department chair and founding faculty director of the Master’s Information Systems program at the Foster School of Business.
Anderson takes over as director of the Management and Entrepreneurship Area from Clint Chadwick Howard Fitch/Fred Ball Professor.
