There are some incentives to use that PTO.
If the year is coming to an end quickly and you haven’t burned through your vacation days — please use them all — it’s not too late to book an adventure this fall with great discounts on domestic and international travel. Among them are several cities worth vacationing: Seattle, London and Barcelona.
You won’t be the only one on vacation this year: According to Expedia, searches for fall getaways are up 40% compared to last year. A two-year hiatus due to the epidemic is spilling over into the fall.
Seattle, Los Angeles, Portland, Barcelona, San Francisco and London are among the cities where the average ticket price (ATP) for cruise flights has dropped – making them cheaper to book for those who live in one of these cities. Flights to other places as well. For example, the London ATP is down about 20%. And ATP is down over 45% for Seattle (but book a hotel soon if you’re going to London – it’s a hot spot with 290% interest on Expedia).
Also, where did the ATPs fall in the top 10 list? If you want to stay close to home, San Diego (20%), Chicago (20%), Mexico City (10%) and Cancun (10%). More field? Rome and Paris ATPs are down 15%.
Ready to book your flights? Expedia had three recommendations:
- Domestic travel is cheaper in September 26: ATPs are expected to be around 45% cheaper than in the summer months, and so it may be worth checking out last-minute deals.
- The week of October 10 is set to see ATPs less than 20% of the summer for international travel.
- The classic advice still stands: depart on a Tuesday or Wednesday with a lower ticket price versus a Monday.
Find all the deals on Expedia and take advantage of those vacation days before they’re gone on the spreadsheet in an unforgettable way.
