Barbiecore sweeps fashion and beyond – WWD

London – It’s Barbie’s world again.

The Mattel doll has had many iterations and ups and downs in pop culture over the past 63 years.Her popularity has increased this year, and Barbiecore style is everywhere.

Earlier this month, on World Chimpanzee Day, Mattel released a Dr. Jane Goodall doll as part of its Barbie Inspiring Women series, which features Rosa Parks, Frida Kahlo, Amelia Earhart, Katherine Johnson and more.

“Kids need more role models like Dr. Goodall, because imagining what they can be is just the beginning – seeing makes all the difference,” said Lisa McKnight, CEO of Barbie and Mattel Toys.

Goodwall is best known for her 60 years of research on the social and family relationships of wild chimpanzees.
