Tesla is advertising about 20 Bangkok-based jobs on its website, including a home charging developer.
US EV giant Tesla is ramping up recruitment in Thailand, the Southeast Asian automotive hub, as demand for electric vehicles continues to grow. The company is looking to hire a Business Development Manager and Recruiter as stated on its website. The job announcements come as the country faces high energy prices, which have boosted demand for EVs with the support of government consumer incentives.
The company is advertising about 20 Bangkok-based jobs on its website, including a home charging developer, and a charging infrastructure leader position is also posted on LinkedIn. Other vacancies were for vehicle technicians, customer service and parts consultant.

However, Thailand is not expected to be a Tesla manufacturing site for now, although the country’s government has promoted the sale of EVs and it is speculated that the EV company may set up official showrooms there.
Thailand is Asia’s fourth largest auto assembly and export hub for companies such as Toyota Motor Corp. and Honda Motor Co. Ltd. The country sees between 1.5 million and 2 million vehicles a year, half of which are exported.
The Thai government now targets 725,000 EVs per year or 30% of vehicle production by 2030. Great Wall Motors announced the ORA Good Cat model at the annual motor show for 828,500 baht ($22,600). The Chinese manufacturer also plans to produce that model in Thailand in 2024.
Another Chinese automaker, Hozon Automobile, introduced the NETA V last month at 549,000 baht ($15,000), roughly equivalent to the starting price of traditional vehicles in Thailand. Meanwhile, Indonesian President Joko Widodo in August urged Tesla to manufacture its cars and batteries in his country.
