Travel insurance company Squetz has delved into data on current travel costs, traveler spending, and the most popular spring break destinations to share their insights on what travelers can expect on their upcoming vacation.

By analyzing data relevant to travel insurance policy sales for trips during this period, Squaremouth discovered four new spring break travel trends.
Top price tags on spring break travel
The survey found that the average cost of insured travel for the spring break travel season increased by 3.4 percent compared to last year. It has grown, from $353.69 per policy in 2022 to $378.05 in 2023.
This year’s most expensive spring break destinations are:
Antarctica: $12,216.27 Average Trip Cost
Tanzania: $11,600.83 average trip price
Ecuador: $10,914.51 average trip price
Peru: $9,682.17 average trip price
South Africa: $8,879.17 average trip price
The Caribbean islands are popular among families
The Caribbean seems to be beckoning families this Spring Break, with Turks and Caicos, the British Virgin Islands and the Cayman Islands being the top three destinations among travelers with kids.
Unfortunately, the average trip to these three destinations has increased by 29% since last year.

A number of far-flung destinations are seeing significant increases in the number of spring break travelers this year compared to last.
The top five destinations with the biggest increase in spring break bookings through Squaremouth are:
New Zealand (+2,556 percent)
Vietnam (+1,875 percent)
Japan (+537 percent)
Indonesia (+368 percent)
Antarctica (+258 percent)
Israel is back after the plague.
For the first time since pre-pandemic 2019, Israel is among the top five guaranteed travel destinations during spring break. Squeeze reported an impressive 119 percent sales growth for the Middle Eastern country compared to last year’s figures.
