As international travel restrictions become lighter in Australia, you may be thinking of a hot holiday in nearby Fiji.

Before you leave, what are the latest CVD restrictions, what happens if you happen to be there and you may be wondering what the risk of infection is while traveling.

All your Fiji Covidy questions are answered here.

Do I need to be vaccinated?

Fiji is only open to fully vaccinated passengers and their accompanying minors.

Anyone over the age of 16 must show proof of immunization at the airport before leaving for Fiji.

Completely vaccinated means that you have received two doses of TGA-approved vaccine.

Fiji currently knows vaccines for AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Moderna, Johnson and Johnson, Nuvaxovid (Novavax), Coronavac (Sinovac), Covishield, BBIBP-CorV (Sinopharm), Covaxin and Sputnik V.

Do I need to have a CVD test before I leave?

No, but once you get there, you need to unite.

To enter the country, you will need to have a fast antigen test (RAT) within 72 hours of each passenger arriving at age 12 and older.

Yes, you also need travel insurance and it should cover Covidy-19.

If your insurance does not cover Covide-19, the country offers a FijiCare COVID-19 for all travelers.

The only difference is if you have a legal license and have a letter of support from a sponsor or employer to cover all Covidy-related expenses, including exclusion if necessary.

If you make sure you have a copy, your insurance will need extra days to stay in the country.

Should I wear a mask?

Wearing a mask in Fiji is an option but is especially recommended in crowded areas.

If you are in close contact with a positive covide issue, special arrangements will apply if you are required to wear a mask in public.

What happens if I find Kovid while I am there?

Fiji has a seven-day detention period for anyone who is confirmed to be in CVD.

If you are staying in a hotel as much as possible, you should be able to isolate your room, otherwise there may be an independent room in the hotel, or you may be classified as “extra”.

If you are fever-free, the isolation will end, and all your other symptoms will improve after seven days.

After a positive examination, masks are recommended but this is not mandatory.

What if the person I’m traveling with is positive?

You can choose to isolate them, but you do not have to.

If you choose to opt out, you will be asked to wear a N95 mask.

It also means that if you do a positive test during that time, you should start your own seven-day exclusion period.

If you decide to exclude, you will need to wear a mask in public and be examined if you experience symptoms.

I recently met Kovid, do I need to reschedule my trip?

It depends on the time you have.

If you have had a positive examination and recovery within 30 days of your trip, you will need to provide a certificate of exclusion, a flight certificate or a letter from a trusted institution.

What happens if I do not meet these requirements?

There are some severe punishments.

Anyone who does not meet the requirements will be fined up to FJ $ 10,000 ($ 6,700) or up to five years in prison.

Being prosecuted overseas can affect your ability to travel in the future.

What should I do before I return to Australia?

Vaccination will be open to anyone from Australia on 6 July.

Covide testing is also not required, but travelers are encouraged to monitor for symptoms after returning.

More than 95 percent of Fiji’s adult population is fully vaccinated.

Relatively speaking, Australia has a 95.92 immunization schedule for people over 16.

However, the Fiji government recommends avoiding low-dose vaccines to reduce the risk of exposure.

Fiji has a relatively low covide rate compared to other countries, reporting a total of 64,713 cases on June 30 – Australia had more than 8.1 million cases.

It should be noted, however, that Fiji has a much smaller population of 896,000.

How do I know where to go in Fiji?

Fiji Care has a program called Fiji Commitment (CFC).

The program ensures that everyone who comes in contact with the program is fully vaccinated.

The Fiji government recommends staying with CFC businesses, eating and visiting to avoid infection.

Safe trips!
