Vermont Business Magazine The Vermont Council on Rural Development (VCRD) announces the opening of applications for the second round of the Climate Catalyst Innovation Fund.
In partnership with local funders, VCRD is offering at least $20,000 in grant funding to local projects developing solutions that bring Vermont closer to its climate and energy goals. The second round follows the successful first round of investments in 18 projects (out of 29 applications).
“This fund enables small projects that test ideas, learn and share new ways to make a meaningful impact through local climate-specific solutions. The first round of the Climate Catalyst Innovation Fund’s scope of projects in Vermont speaks to the diversity and innovation needed to implement local climate solutions.”
Award amounts range from $500 – $4,000 and are awarded for demonstrating a mix of creativity, collaboration and innovation, as well as for Vermonters in need. Eligible applicants are municipalities, town committees, schools, businesses and non-profit organizations.
“Initial funding for community-based climate innovations is a scarce and important resource for local leaders,” said Brian Lowe, executive director of VCRD. “We’re grateful to our community-focused funders, and we look forward to supporting some innovative apps.”
Applications remain open until Sunday, September 18.
