Plastics recovery Avangard Innovative has been selected to participate in Apple’s Business Accelerator program, opening up more opportunities for Avangard to do business with the tech behemoth.
Waller, Texas-based Avangard was one of 16 area-focused businesses selected for the second round of the Apple Impact Accelerator. The businesses, which are owned by black, Hispanic and Native Americans, are involved in recycling, alternative energy, water management, energy efficiency and more.
Part of Apple’s Racial Equity and Justice Initiative, the program offers training, mentorship and the opportunity to do business with the world’s second-highest-valued company (after oil giant Saudi Aramco).
Avangard and its founder and CEO Rick Perez were selected to participate in the three-month program, Apple said. press release. The organization provides It provides recycling technologies and services to various organizations around the world, as well as operates American polyethylene recycling plants that produce its own NaturaPCR brand.
After completing the Acceleration Program, the companies will be considered for business opportunities with Apple as the company works to achieve carbon neutrality in its manufacturing supply chain by 2030.
