From incredible movies like The Queen, Woman in Gold, Hitchcock, and many others, Dame Helen Mirren has established herself as one of Hollywood’s most beloved actresses. And, despite the many years of incredible work behind her, Mirren’s recent action-packed movies, like Shazam! Fury of the Gods and Fast X, prove she’s nowhere close to stopping anytime soon.
And, with each premiere and awards show she attends, Mirren always brings some bold and colorful fashion to the carpet. From the blue sequined dress she wore to the 1999 Emmy Awards to her most recent head-to-toe purple look (with matching hair!) at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival, Mirren’s a force to be reckoned with on the carpet.
“When it comes to the outfit I choose for an event, I’m really quick,” Mirren told The Telegraph last year. I work with either a stylist or a fashion designer and see what they’ve got and what they can lend me. And I can see what will work immediately. I won’t fuss around.” No fussing, amazing results!
“I don’t have the easiest shape to deal with,” she continued. “I’m not tall or slim, I’m curvy and short, so only certain things look good and some very edgy things just don’t work. And that’s fine. There are people whose style I love but wouldn’t necessarily try to emulate because everyone’s different.” And to say we say don’t worry Helen, you’ve got your sense of style down to a T!
