And the winners of the LOEWE Craft Prize and the Studio Voltaire Prize…

Spanish fashion house LOEWE is renowned for supporting the next generation of innovation in fashion, art and design practices. Now, they have announced the winners of two of their most cherished prizes: the LOEWE FOUNDATION / Studio Voltaire Prize and the LOEWE Craft Prize. The latter is given to Beatrix Pang, a Hong Kong-based artist who has done significant work in independent publications, promoting zine culture locally and creating queer library spaces throughout the Asian diaspora. Along with the award, Beatrix won a one-year residency at Studio Voltaire in London, with her housing, living expenses, travel, materials and production covered by LOEWE, along with a mentorship program. That award for handicrafts was awarded to Dahye Jeong, a young artist who revived and modernized a traditional hat weaving technique that was lost 500 years ago to make horsehair baskets. A special shout out to finalists Andile Dialvane, an artist inspired by Xhosa culture and the Cornish landscape, and Julia Obermeyer, who perfectly encapsulates classical decorative techniques. WARDROBE.NYC’s latest collection is a real stretch.

Comprised of eight pieces in luxurious matte black stretch knits, the collection’s square-neck dresses, back-zippered legs, bandeau hats and sleeves are inspired by Josh and Kristen’s shared desire to introduce new images into the language of WARDROBE.NYC. “Sweaters are the foundation of my summer wardrobe and something we want to define in a clear and concise way,” says Christine. “We haven’t explored body awareness or imaging patterns before, so this is a new step for our minimalism and functionality.” Another addition to the world of the New York label this season is a first-ever shoe – the sandal. Alexander McQueen’s versatile SS22 trainer is out now.

Remember the pair of white trainers and blazers paired with elegant ball gowns at Alexander McQueen’s SS22 show last October? Well it was called Sprintrunner and the house’s new film showcases its full potential. By pop star, dancer and Hustlers Actress Mette Towley swings, twirls, kicks and pirouettes in white shoes with black shoes and inner details in Sophie Muller’s stunning and visually stunning film. A closer inspection of the trainer reveals an intricate and unique rose print on the side which subtly features the letters A and M within the leaves. Yeezy Gap finally landed in stores

Steezy Yeezy fans, your time has come. Finally, Yeezy Gap product is finally landing in stores. That’s right, no more flash sales online – you can now get your hands on the most sought-after pieces on the world wide web in the flesh, including a selection of pieces from Yeezy Gap’s holy grail line: Yeezy Gap Engineered Balenciaga at. Of course there is one catch. The only physical store set to stock the product is the Gap New York flagship in Times Square. Ukrainian Fashion Week is becoming international.

For 25 years, Ukrainian Fashion Week has been going strong every season, showcasing the best ready-to-wear designers from Eastern Europe. For SS23, however, due to Russia’s ongoing invasion of the country, the usual demonstration will not go ahead. Instead, an initiative has been set up for Ukrainian designers to showcase their work throughout Europe and the US, and in other fashion weeks in Berlin, Brussels, LA and more. “Ever since the Russian invasion of Ukraine, we have all been living in an incredible tension and existence that everyone in every part of our country is feeling,” said Iryna Danilevska, founder and CEO of Ukrainian Fashion Week. “However, Ukrainian designers found strength during the war to create new collections to tell the whole world about Ukrainian resilience and courage, and to show Ukrainian national identity through fashion, which is an integral part of Ukrainian culture.” Protect your eyes. Haeckels entered a bold, elegant new era
