Addison-based homebuilder Gehan Homes will consolidate its three brands under one unified brand – Brightland Homes, effective March 21.
The company said the move will consolidate about 110 active communities across Texas, Arizona, Colorado and Tennessee from the Gehan Homes, Gray Point Homes and Wonderland Homes brands.
“Since transitioning the business in 2016, we’ve seen significant growth and implemented changes as we’ve seen the evolution of our company,” Gehan Homes President and CEO John Winiford said in a statement. “The business has expanded into new markets through acquisitions, created new and diversified product offerings, and delivered more than 17,000 homes. Consolidating the brands into a new single entity is the next logical step for our company.
In the year Founded in 1994, the company sold a 51% interest to Sumitomo Forestry America in 2014. Under Winiford’s leadership, the company expanded into four additional markets, acquired two homebuilding companies, and became the 13th largest private homebuilder in the United States.

The name of Gehan houses refers to the founding members of the organization. Having sold their shares and exited the company in 2016, the name Bryland Homes removes confusion in the marketplace and accurately reflects the company’s structure, mission and future. – Visualization, the company said.
The name change comes after it was announced last month that the company’s owner was entering the Florida market and acquiring South Impression Homes, which features rental properties.
Southern Impressions will continue to market under its current brand name.
Having been known as Gehan Homes for 30 years to trading partners, Realtors and clients, he said an important part of the rebranding process was focused on paying homage to the past. To that endeavour, the Brightland Homes logo design features a raised arch above the letters G and H.
It represents the rising sun, and the arch represents the energy, innovation and commitment that drives the company’s growth and overall focus on its employees and customers, the company said.
Some residential construction services and real estate development projects will continue to be marketed under the Gehan Homes name.
