A woman quit her job at LinkedIn to travel the world, the post went viral.

We all aspire to pursue a passion at one point or another in our lives – some people may choose to pursue a career that matches their passion, while others choose their passion from their day job. A similar story of a Delhi-based woman who quit her job to follow her true passion is doing rounds on the internet. She quit her job in 2022 and reflected on her decision a year later.

Now a content creator, Akanksha Monga took to Twitter on May 17 to share her story. She wrote: “I quit my job at LinkedIn. Last year, on this day, when I left, I promised myself 1 year to focus on my passion and travel the world full-time.” She added that she is very fired up, works alone and has 2,50,000 followers on Instagram.

According to her LinkedIn profile, Ms Monga worked at the company for six months from January to June 2022 as a creative managing associate.

In another tweet, Ms Monga compared her journey a year later. “She was following the truth,” she said. “1 year later: 250k to 700k+ community, traveled to 12 countries (8 of them solo!), built a 6 person team, TravelAmore!, shot and posted 300+ videos, worked with 30+ brands,” she wrote. The post.

Ms Monga says she still burns out sometimes and has to work longer hours.

Since being shared on the microblogging platform, her post has garnered over 1.7 lakh views and over a thousand likes.

“Make your passion your career and you will always excel! Congratulations,” said one user.

“Inspired millions of people to follow their passion. Big respect,” said another.

A third person said, “That’s amazing! It sounds like an incredible adventure to follow your passion and travel the world full time.”

However, some people had a different opinion on her decision.

One user added, “People with huge safety nets end up talking nonsense like this and it makes hard working people look ineffective. Talk about giving up all her family wealth to chase passion.”
