VALDOSTA, Ga. (WALB) – In hopes that loving thy neighbor will be in full bloom in the Valdosta community, a downtown flower shop donated bouquets at a senior institution Wednesday.
Every year, Teleflora partners with growers and family-owned flower shops across the country to make people smile.
This year, residents at Langdale Place were thrilled.
“Oh, it’s fun, isn’t it?” These beautiful flowers will make anyone feel good,” said Janice Strickland, a resident of Langdale Place. “I was here last year and I really liked my flowers and I’m still enjoying the beautiful trophy.”
Susan Mullis, owner of The Flower Gallery for more than 20 years, said it was extra special to move to Langdale Place this year because her mother currently lives there.
She says she has a total of 350 events and takes great pride in being able to brighten someone’s day. The company also has stops at Pruitt Holly Hill and Fellowship Home.
“This is a wonderful activity for everyone in the community and we love to give back to the community. These ladies and gentlemen love all the places we go here in the afternoon,” Mullis said.
This year, the residents and Mullis said that some of these residents have no family or help, so this event is very impactful.
“I think it’s very important. Everyone is looking forward to it. Everyone I’ve spoken to has said they’re looking forward to it,” said Langdale Place resident Ann Barron.
This is the 14th year the Flower Gallery has participated.
