About 30 minutes after flight 1691 took off, the parents of three-month-old baby Angela were in shock after their baby had trouble breathing on board. This immediately caught the attention of 20-year-old nurse Tamara Panzino, who rushed to the baby’s side. Viewers watched as the nurse massaged both the baby’s legs and neck, which was successful and soon the baby was breathing. Fox 35 News reporter Ian Cassett tweeted the amazing moment on video, thanking the nurse for her amazing work on the plane. Thanks to the quick thinking of nurse Tamara Panzino, the flight went off without a hitch when Sprit Airlines forced an emergency landing.

Nurse Tamara Panzino has since spoken to WESH TV about the horrific events.

“I didn’t know if the baby was choking or if the airway was clear, and I didn’t know what I was going through. I saw a baby in distress and not breathing, her head back, blue lips and skin turning blue. And my heart is broken.

She further explained to Fox News how important it was to play a role in saving such a young infant’s life.

“When you have to step forward and do the right thing, you do it. It was an interesting story and it made me feel good. “

The baby’s parents have since thanked Tamara Panzino for her ‘heroic act’ in saving their son’s life.
