A new Addison County Visitor Center opens April 24.

Vermont Business Magazine The Addison County Chamber of Commerce has announced that the new Addison County Visitor Center at the Ferrisburg/Vergennes Train Depot in Ferrisburgh will open on April 24.

The new Addison County Visitor Center was designed by Shadow and light design It features an interactive kiosk where Moncton and visitors can search for restaurants, lodging and points of interest in Addison County. Large video displays and information displays showcase Addison County’s arts and culture, entertainment and historic attractions.

The Addison County Visitor Center offers print and video advertising and brochure distribution.

The new Addison County Visitor Center is funded and operated by the Addison County Chamber of Commerce, with Chamber offices located at the Ferrisburgh/Vergennes Depot. Funding for the new visitor center was provided by the Chamber and member donations. The Chamber does not receive any public funds for the Visitor Center.

Located at the intersection of Routes 7 and 22A, the Visitor Center serves thousands of visitors arriving by Amtrak, bus and car, and has ample parking, Wi-Fi, restrooms and is ADA compliant. The Visitor Center officially opens to the public on Monday, April 24. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The chamber hopes to open on Saturdays if funding is available in the future.

Addison County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Phil Summers said, “We are thrilled to be able to put on this show for our members and Addison County as a whole. Hats off to our Board of Directors for green-lighting this project, and to Shadow and Light for providing a dynamic visitor experience.

The “preview mixer” will be held on Thursday evening, April 20th from 5-7pm and is open to pre-registered members only.

Shadows & Light of Moncton, Vermont is an exhibit design company specializing in Vermont tourism and history. They have been exhibit designers for Vermont State Visitor Centers since 1995. They have also worked on historical exhibits such as Independence and Unity at the Vermont History Museum, as well as historical displays at the Vermont State House.
