A mobile mammography unit operated by the Joanie Abdu Comprehensive Breast Care Center will travel to multiple locations in August.
A mobile mammography unit will travel around Northeast Ohio to provide women’s health services during the month of August.
Joanie Abdu Comprehensive Breast Care Center’s mobile mammography unit “makes quality care easier for women,” according to a press release.
The unit uses the same technology and equipment found at JACBCC to perform mammograms.
It is recommended to talk to your doctor about when to have a screening mammogram. Screening mammograms are usually a covered benefit with most insurance carriers, and financial assistance is available for mobile screenings.
Certified radiologists read all mammograms, and Mercy Health also verifies all mammograms using a computer-aided screening method that helps diagnose breast cancer better than mammography alone.
There are many places where mammograms can be obtained through a mobile unit.
