Lugano Diamonds, the renowned luxury jeweler known for creating one-of-a-kind jewels (often referred to as wearable works of art), will open its flagship location on Fashion Island in late 2022.
Lugano Diamonds will take over the former Canaletto Ristorante and Atomic Cream locations. The site will be completely redesigned to create the signature look of Lugano Diamonds & Jewelers.
According to information from Lugano, the brand’s Grand Salon will provide guests with an intimate shopping experience in a beautiful setting with an adjacent private club and a spacious outdoor garden.
The company’s current location at 620 Newport Center Dr. will remain open until the new Grand Salon flagship location opens.
“Our goal is to build relationships with our customers and create unique luxury experiences in our salons,” Chief Experience Officer Stuart Winston said in a press release. “Our business has grown this way, and we know that expanding into larger salons in destinations like Fashion Island will help us continue our success.”
The spacious new concept (11,000 square feet) created by Lugano co-founder Edith Ferder offers custom furniture for Poltrona Frau, founded in 1912 and headquartered in Tolentino, Italy.
Beautiful hardwood floors are handcrafted by Jamie Beckwith in Nashville, TN. Luxury fabrics used include cashmere, mohair and silk from famous mills such as Cravet and Brunschwig and Fils.
The Grand Salon is open daily and is available for walk-in viewing or by appointment.
The Fashion Island location will be Lugano Diamond’s only presence on the West Coast and home to their first private club. The club, which houses an outdoor garden, further enhances the luxurious experience. Membership is by invitation only.
Prive offers an in-store restaurant concept from Lugano Diamonds to host private events. Chef Michelle Bernstein, a James Beard Foundation honoree and host of the Emmy Award-winning production “SoFlo Taste” in South Florida, serves as in-house culinary consultant and develops the food and beverage menu.
