STERLING – Planning a wedding or special event can be difficult and frustrating, especially if something is not available locally. Nares Event Co. It alleviates these frustrations by providing all the essentials for that special day under one roof.
“We have a lot of special things that you have to go to a big city to find. We are truly a one-stop shop,” said owner Ashley Nares. “We provide everything you need for a special event or wedding – photo and social booths, flower walls and various backdrops. I also do make-up and provide photography services, and my husband Ryan handles the videography.
Nares worked as a makeup artist for many years and expanded into photography after being fired from her job as a medical assistant during the pandemic. Nares’ time working in weddings made her realize that there is a lack of services and decorations for special events in the area.
“When we got married, most of the things I wanted for my wedding weren’t here, and I had to go to Chicago to get them,” says Nares, whose taste is high and luxurious. “I’m a budgie, and I realized there are other people who want things like this for their special day.”
The couple plans to use the money they received from the county’s Save the America Plan Act to expand their offerings and put it toward the storefront. The Nares have selected a location and are awaiting approval from their financial institution before officially announcing the new location.
