Gilbert, AZ – Locally owned business, Cider Corps, is expected to open a new tap and production facility in Gilbert by the end of July.
According to Jason Duren, co-owner and cidermaker, business production has increased beyond the Mesa area and this new 2.5-acre property in Gilbert is the perfect location to open a second tap room and continue production. Food service is provided by the Braeside Burger food truck, and guests can bring other food on tap.
Made at home
The new venue has 31 CDs on tap, all of which are made in-house.
“We take fresh apple juice; we ferment it and then we add real fruit inside. So we don’t use any sugar, no artificials, no fillers — just 100% real fruit,” Duren told ABC15. “Our process is different from most cigars on the market. It’s a little different. Therefore, our ciders go through 100% malolactic fermentation; It is a secondary fermentation that converts some nasty acids – things that produce dry vinegar [and] It makes it smooth like wine.
According to Duren, a tour of the new cidery is planned.
“Celebrate the Great Sacrifice.”
Cider Corps is more than just a maker. Co-owners and brothers Josh and Jason Duren opened their first location in Mesa on Veterans Day 2017.
Jason Duren is a Marine veteran and the honor of serving his country is evident everywhere. In Gilbert Bath a Purple Heart Medal Murals, cider pipes are grenades and there are helmet lights. “One of the helmets is the actual helmet I wore in combat and the other is the other one. [from] One of my friends who lives here right now — he’s wearing a helmet,” Duren said.
You also won’t find televisions on site. “The purpose is to talk to your neighbor or whoever you are here [or to] Strange,” said Duran.
