It’s mid-July, which means you’ve probably reached the peak of the deep summer glow. The sun is setting at 9:00 p.m., the weather is getting hot (so hot) and you’re wondering how to keep your summer romance alive in the fall. The season is flying by but summer is not over yet, which means you still have time to try out the hottest summer fashion trends of 2022.

This season’s trends encourage you to step out of your comfort zone and make a statement. So whether you’re wearing more shade than the sun or rocking a body chain over your look (my vote is to do both), the biggest accessory to your outfit is that “I know I’m hot” attitude.

But you don’t just have to take my word for it. I spoke with supermodel Chanel Iman about her summer fashion trends and your best looks. Chanel Iman has walked in countless fashion shows and worn every trend before they hit the stores, so I totally trust her opinion on this summer’s trends.

Iman says, “If there’s one thing I’ve learned throughout my career in fashion, it’s to be bold and confident when it comes to your style – and most importantly, be yourself. This winter, bold patterns are very popular!”

Just because you buy bold pieces doesn’t mean they have to break the bank. Retailers like Marshalls, TJ Maxx and Asos have a version of each trend for a better price.

According to Iman, Marshalls “has a wide variety of fun and whimsical styles that are perfect for summer – like Shirt For only $12! I like to combine bold patterns with such simple contrasts Jeans shorts To make the dress an eye-catching part of my look.

The good news is that all the top summer fashion trends can be played with bright accessories or simply Finish by pairing with basics like jeans or a classic blazer. Keep scrolling to choose which trend you want to rock before winter is out.

Nowadays, the name of the fashion game is “more is better” and hot pink is just as bright. The shade first became popular when Valentino made it the one and only color on the runway last season, and every celebrity has been wearing it ever since! Just when it seemed like pink couldn’t get any hotter, the nostalgic bimbo fashionista look Barbiecore has resurfaced. Coincidentally (or not so much), photos of Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling decked out in pink on the set of the upcoming Barbie movie were released at the same time. I predict that bright colors will last until autumn, but summer is definitely the best time to wear them.

If wearing an all-out hot pink outfit is too intimidating, take some advice from model Chanel Iman and incorporate neon into your outfit. “My style is more colorful and laid-back, so wearing a simple dress and popping it with accessories is always my favorite way to elevate my summer look,” says Iman.

Dressing for summer heat often means ditching the layers and detailing pieces of clothing in order to last longer, which is why I love the mesh trend so much. Mesh adds texture and dimension to any look and can be worn for any occasion. For example, a slip-on mesh dress is the perfect swimsuit cover-up or a mesh tank can be paired with jewelry and baggy jeans for an effortlessly cool day. A popular iteration of the trend are crisp white sheer dresses (as seen above). Pair the dress with a contrasting bag and bright shoes to complete the look.

Are you just using a woven bag for days by the ocean? Beach please The beach bag has shrunk and is ready to go from city to country, to the pool and back again. Designers such as Lowe’s, Balenciaga and Prada have created sustainable versions of woven basket bags meant to be carried as handbags. The material and shape are obviously perfect for summer and are a great way to bring the beachy granny feel into your everyday life. Whether you choose the colorful iteration or stick with the usual neutral tones,

Are you attending a formal wedding? Feathers look great for that. Maybe you’re planning a big birthday party? A feather mini dress is a must. Or if you want to dress it up for your daily coffee run, maybe wear a sleeve with feather trim to impress the barista. Feathers are no doubt the most exciting fashion trend to take this summer.

Whether you’ve been in a relationship for years or just don’t have time to swipe left or right, a slip dress is the ultimate date night look and model Chanel Iman agrees. “I like to be comfortable and dresses do the trick. For a date night, I prefer a summer wardrobe – a little black dress,” says Iman.

Slides work well as LBDs or can be played with bright colors or patterns. A slip dress is not only sexy, but also very versatile. You can wear them on their own, with a t-shirt or blazer or cardigan, depending on your day-night trip.

Calling all fashionistas! A body chain takes your look and accessories to the next level. Body chains look great layered over a bikini, crop top or baggy jeans in the summer – if you want more info, Hailey Bieber’s whole Instagram page is basically a body chain fan account. While I wish the trend would last year-round, it’s hard to layer a body chain over a chunky wool sweater (although I dare you to try.) This is definitely a trend to try before fall hits.
