Mountain View, California – A Bay Area executive has been arrested on suspicion of kidnapping a woman on Mountain View over the weekend, officials say.

John Kevin Woodward, 58, president and CEO of Redtech, was arrested on Saturday at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport after arriving from Amsterdam, according to the District Attorney’s Office in Santa Clara County.

A spokesman for the district attorney’s office said he would leave on Monday and be escorted to Bay Area at the end of the month, accompanied by Mountain View investigators.

Woodward, who is suspected of killing Lauri Houtz, 25, in 1992, will be arraigned in court, District Attorney Jeff Rose said in a news release.

Howe, a computer engineer, was found dead on September 5, 1992, in her car at Creteon Lane Mountain View, a mile away from her job.

The rope he used to kill her is still around her neck, and authorities say her fingerprints are on the windshield, and she fights with her attacker.

Woodward’s fingerprints were found outside Houtz’s car, but in 1992 investigators were unable to identify him.

Last year, investigators at the Santa Clara County Criminal Laboratory and the Mountain View Police Department used new advances in forensic science technology to connect Woodward to the rope around Hout’s neck, the district attorney said.

Officials say Woodward was clearly jealous of Houses and that she had “failed a romantic relationship” with her boyfriend.

This is not the first time Woodward has been charged with murder. District Prosecutor Woodward tried twice in the late 1990s, but was rejected due to lack of evidence following a second trial.

After the case was dismissed, Woodward was transferred to the Netherlands, officials said.

While waiting for his transfer to California, Woodward was arrested in New York without bail.
