On the other side of the road, the new truck park in Combes has started to develop the Unity Park area. Workers are installing a rainwater harvesting system at the site, which is located behind the strips.

Combes – A new record with the state is investing around $ 10 million in Love’s Travel Stop and National Park, which is the center of the city’s Unity Park project.

Enrollment by the Texas Licensing and Regulatory Department shows a 9,253-square-foot facility on Oklahoma City-based Love Plans investing 14 acres on Northeast I-69E and FM 508.

“The company typically invests between $ 10 million and $ 15 million in a new location, and the store in Combes will fall with this,” said Kathleen Campbell, director of communications at Loveves. “Love’s already has a network of love sites in Brownsville, Donna, Edinburgh, Laredo and Kingville, with professional truck drivers and four-wheeled customers to return to the road with love and speed in South Texas.”

Campbell said the deadline for the new truck is 2023. She said the truck’s courtyard was home to two restaurants, a Goddess Pizza and a Chester Chicken.

Combins Mayor Mark Sánchez said he expects the new roundabout to have an economic impact on his city and region each year.

“It’s a big commitment. In fact, we found the construction plans yesterday and are reviewing them, ”the mayor said last week. “We are happy. It is exciting for North Cameron County, our city, and Harlingen and all around us.

The new travel stop is part of a larger project for the Combins called Unity Park area, which has a total of 26 hectares of land and is located behind FM 508 behind Strips. The proposal includes plans for a hotel, health center, retail square, shopping, residential and many lakes.

Last year, the city released a $ 4.5 million bond to use the necessary infrastructure for the project.

“We’re breaking ground there,” said Sánchez. “Of course we are installing a rainwater harvesting system, and in front of the property, Streps will be on the corner of I-69 in Nixon Road.”

Love Travel Parking and Home Stores is a family-owned chain with more than 500 parking lots and convenience stores in 41 states. Last year, the company sold nearly $ 20 billion.

The company is ranked 17thThForbes, the largest private US company, employs about 25,000 people.
