At Lookout Staff
July 8, 2022 – As Santa Monica’s tourism industry recovers from the closure of the Corona virus, local hotels and restaurants are looking for workers to fill vacancies and make enough money.
On Tuesday, Santa Monica Travel and Tourism (SMTT) will host a performance at the Santa Monica venue on the third floor of the mall from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Ms. Kernes, president and CEO of SMT, said: “The amazing tourism staff and hospitality you find in Santa Monica are two of the main reasons why we can call ourselves South California’s favorite beach town.
“Working near this beach is the dream of many and we are excited to play a role in launching the long and successful career we want in our beautiful city.”
Job seekers must bring at least 10 copies of improved work experience and wear business attire, agency officials said. No response is required to participate in this public event.
Check out SMTT’s Santa Monica Hospitality Exhibition page to see a list of businesses in which job applicants are participating and “Search for opportunities to discuss.”
Participants’ list includes local tourism businesses such as ETC Hotels (Beach Shotters, Hotel Kassa del Mar and Bayside Hotel), Fermont Miemar Hotel and Bungalos, Shore Hotel and The Viseiroi Santa Monica.
Restaurants include Beach at Pierre, Perry Cafe and Beach Rentals as well as Rusty Canyon Family Group Restaurants, Birdie G’s, Cassia, Esters Wine Shop & Bar, Huckleberry Bakery & Café and Milo & Olive.
Numerous retail stores from Santa Monica Places and the surrounding area are also on the lookout for exhibitors.
The key driver of the local economy, tourism is the number of visitors and the amount of money spent last year, from SMT (“Santa Monica Tourism to the Road to Recovery, Industry Officials Say” May 10, 2022)
