Sky Sports’ Cave Solhekol says Chelsea are interested in signing Cristiano Ronaldo, although their focus is on other targets.
Ronaldo has told Manchester United he wants to leave Old Trafford this winter, and is understood to be determined to join a club competing in the UF Champions League.
Bayern Munich have stated they do not want to sign Ronaldo, but Stamford Bridge could still be the destination for the 37-year-old.
New Chelsea chairman Todd Bohley held talks with Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes last month.
American businessman Bohli stands in front of a concert he bought for Chelsea from Roman Abramovich in May.
According to Solhekol, if Chelsea sign Ronaldo this summer, he will probably be more interested in Bohl’s business than coach Thomas Tuchel.
Chelsea have a attacking role following the return of Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan on loan. But Rahim Sterling is expected to sign from Manchester City later this month.
“There is some interest from Chelsea in the Premier League,” Solhekol told Sky Sports News on Thursday.
But what we have found and what other people have been reporting all week is that Chelsea are focusing on other targets.
“They focus on players like Raheem Sterling. They focus on players like Rafinha.
“I think Cristiano Ronaldo would go to Chelsea for business and football reasons.
“New American owners may think it’s good for someone like Cristiano Ronaldo to play at Stamford Bridge.
“I’m not sure Thomas Tuchel feels Cristiano Ronaldo is wanted by the club but there is interest.”
