Investment Conference:
Lidsek Digital Technology and Astron Medtech won the first prizes, and Maryland agreed to partner with Taiwan.
Two Taiwanese startups won the prestigious SelectUSA Tech competition in Maryland last week, while another local company finished second in the category, the Ministry of Economic Affairs said on Saturday.
Fourteen starters from Taiwan competed in seven major categories at the SelectUSA Tech Conference, which was part of the SelectUSA Investment Conference last week, June 26-Wednesday, the ministry said in a statement.
One of Taiwan’s competitors, Astron MedTech Co, founded by Taiwan Accelerator Plus (TAcc +), won the Medtech software category, while Lydsec Digital Technology Co won the highest award in cybersecurity, the ministry said.

Taiwan’s third-largest cancer maker, Free Biotech Limited (精 拓 生 技), has won second place in the Medtech software category.
The other major categories were CleanTech, eCommerce & Retail Tech, FinTech and others.
During the meeting, Ho Chi-Sang, Director General of Small and Medium Enterprise Management, discussed with Jessica Reynolds, Director of the Maryland Department of Commerce, the establishment of an initial exchange forum between Taiwan and the state, the ministry said.
Ho and Reynolds have agreed to work with innovative accelerators in Maryland to help more newcomers in Kaoxing and Taxi + 5G AIoT Innovation Park, Taiwan New Beginning Terrace Village, New Taipei, Asia.
After the SelectUSA Summit, Ho and representatives of 23 Taiwanese beginners were invited to visit the California Silicon Valley in AIT. Says the American market.
He added that Taiwan’s representatives were also present at the NextGen Telecom round table hosted by IT.
The SelectUSA Summit, sponsored by the US Department of Commerce, focuses on facilitating job creation in the US.
This year, National Development Council Minister Kung Ming-Hassin (龔明鑫) led a 41-member delegation to the technology sector – specifically semiconductors, artificial intelligence, telecom and space exploration.
Beginners from Hungary, the Netherlands, Israel and Portugal were the winners this year.
