The final stages of the 2023 MotoGP World Championship puzzle are slowly coming to an end, but a significant announcement is now emerging on the horizon.
As it turns out, Dukati and Honda are now the only producers who have not yet confirmed their factory pairs for the next season, although the former is known to be a choice between George Martin and Inne Bastiani.
Honda, for its part, has confirmed that 2020 MotoGP World Champion Joan Mir will be joined by Mark Marquez and Alex Rins and Iogura will fill the company’s satellite seats with LLC.
This means that Paul Spargaro will be snowing in the Honda team after two years with the Redsol team, during which time he will have two modes and one pole.
However, while most of the seats on the MotoGP grid in 2023 are now full, Spargaro It looks like the KTM team, which competed between 2017 and 2020, has a chance to get a lifeline. First, the Spaniard, who competed with KTM, was admired. A.D. Efforts with an Austrian company to lead the difficult first season to lead the test during the 2020 victory campaign.
Although Spargaro could not win any of the victories – from his stable friends Miguel Oliverra and Brad Binder – he finished fifth in the standings.
This means that KTM, despite its efforts in satellite tech 3 racing, wants Spargaro to return to the fold after the factory’s seats were snatched by Binder and the upcoming Jack Miller.
“Paul had a very strong impact on the MotoGP project from 2017 to 2020. With his help we have reached where we are,” Pete Bayer told Speedweek.
“Paul still has a point to agree with KTM. Because when the motorcycle was able to win, he left it to another manufacturer and achieved his childhood dream. In the meantime, it turns out that not everything is easy with us.
Espargaro is expected to be joined by 2021 Moto2 world champion Remy Gardner, who is expected to join his current team-mate Raul Fernandez in the RNF April.
Will GASGAS replace Suzuki as the sixth MotoGP manufacturer?
In addition to the return of Espargaro, next year Carmello Izpeleta could see to it that he wants to keep six producers on the MotoGP grid after leaving Suzuki.
It is rumored that KTM Tech 3 will be reorganizing the race with GASGAS sister brand.
The Spanish company, which has a remarkable history in Motokros and won its first Dakar Rally this year, came under the umbrella of Pierre KTMM in 2019 and has since launched the Grand Prix in Moto3 and Moto2.
KTM is a strategy for MotojiP by reorganizing the Tech 3 team, although it is not clear whether it will be allowed to write KTM RC16 as a GAASGAS chassis to follow the tactics used in Moto3 and Moto2.
If so, GASGAS could be considered a separate manufacturer input, although the fact that it is showing satellite efforts – from being GASKAS’s own construction – could prevent it from doing so.
