Irina Shayk stepped out after the Met Gala in a tank top and sweatpants, although she paired the look with diamonds and sequins, which would surely have disappointed Karl Lagerfeld.GC images

Irina Shayk didn’t cook this style disaster.

The 37-year-old supermodel looked radiant on the Met Gala 2023 red carpet on Monday night, wearing a gorgeous white silk Yohaji Yamamoto gown — and daring to wear flats on the star-studded set.

And Shayk similarly put comfort first at the after-party after the ball, slipping into a white tank top (stylish sans bra) and a pair of gray trousers and sparkly gold boots – and kept her Anna Khoury diamond necklace and earrings off the carpet.

Although the Russian beauty was dressed to stand out in any crowd, she opted for loungewear considering how the evening’s honoree, Karl Lagerfeld, famously hates sweat.

The theme of the 2023 ball was a tribute to the late Lagerfeld, who once called sweatpants a “symbol of failure.”

In fact, one of Lagerfeld’s most memorable (and controversial) quotes from 2013 specifically criticizes stretched bottoms: “Sweatpants are a sign of failure. You bought some pants because you lost control of your life.

The superstar hasn’t “lost control of her life”, she seemed to be enjoying her time at the Met Ball – and was spotted talking to ex Bradley Cooper, with whom she shares 6-year-old daughter Leah.

While Cooper briefly dated Huma Abedin – who he actually met in 2022 – and Shayk has been linked to Kanye West and Leonardo DiCaprio, Page Six reported just last year that the former couple were “trying to conceive” with their second child.

During Cooper’s romance with Abedin, they even went on a family vacation last summer.

Perhaps the late Lagerfeld would have appreciated the irony of one of the sexiest women alive wearing his favorite piece of clothing to commemorate the occasion.

After all, the designer once said, “Everything I say is a joke. I am my own joke.
