The Virginia Department of Transportation is warning drivers to avoid these areas during the week of April 30 through May 6, 2023.

I-95 Northbound

130 (Route 3) Take the ramp

Sunday – Thursday, 9 am – 4:30 am and Friday – Saturday, 10 pm – 5 am, from Fredericksburg to Interstate 95 northbound, Route 3 will be closed for construction on I-95 Northbound Rappahannock. river crossing project, but the ramp will remain open to traffic at all times.

133 (Route 17) to Exit 140 (Court Road)

Single lane closures Tuesday – Friday, 9 pm – 4:30 am and Friday – Saturday, 10 pm – 5 am for construction of the 95 Express Lane Fredericksburg Extension. Crews will work throughout the week at mile markers 134-135, and at various locations for mile markers 133-140 Friday night and Saturday morning.

I-95 South Boundary

Take exit 140 (Court Road) to exit 136 (Centerport Parkway).

Single lane closures Tuesday – Friday, 9 pm – 10 am and Friday – Saturday, 10 pm – 5 am for construction of the 95 Express Lane Fredericksburg Extension.

Take exit 133 (Route 17) to exit 136 (Centerport Parkway).

Single lane closures Monday – Thursday, 6:30am – 10am and Monday – Tuesday, 9pm – 10am and Friday – Saturday, 10am – 5am for construction of the 95 Express Lane Fredericksburg Extension.

Take exit 126 (Spotsylvania) to exit 118 (Thornburg).

Sunday – Thursday, 9 pm – 4:30 am Single and double lane Mile Marker 125. Single-lane closures will begin at 9 a.m., followed by two-lane closures at 10 a.m. for construction to replace the Route 17 (Mills Drive) overpass on -95.

Stafford County

Way 3

Sunday – Thursday, 9 pm – 5 am Mobile single lane to install rumble strips on the edge of the pavement at various locations between the Blue and Gray Parkways and the King George County line and crosswalk markings.

Monday – Friday, 9am – 3pm lane closures and shoulder closures for utility work between Milk Lane and Rumford Road.

Route 17, Northbound and Southbound

Wednesday – Friday, 6 p.m. Full, Intermittent traffic closures possible between midnight and 3 a.m. Single lane near Interstate 95 crossings Signal mast arm pole to install new traffic signal equipment.

Route 610 (Garrisonville Road) at Salisbury Drive and Mine Road

Sunday – Thursday, 8 pm – 5 am Alternate lane closures at the intersections of Route 610 and Salisbury Drive and Route 610 and Mine Road. Law enforcement helps with traffic control. Crews are installing new traffic signal equipment.

Route 1486 (Austin Ridge Drive)

Monday, 9 am – 3 pm and Thursday, 7 am – midnight. Single southbound lane closure at Sunflower Drive at Austin Ridge Drive for water line work under permit.

Spotsylvania County

Route 1 and Harrison Road

Sunday – Thursday, 8 pm – 5 am Alternate lane closures at the intersection of Route 1 and Harrison Road. Law enforcement helps with traffic control. Crews are installing new traffic signal equipment.

Route 208

Intermittent stops for utility work between Smith Station Road and Anna Parkway, Monday – Friday, 9am – 3pm.

Route 627 (Gordon Road)

Sunday – Tuesday, 9 pm – 5 am One lane closure on Gordon Road with one way, alternating traffic directed by flag crews. Work will take place on Gordon Road between its junctions with Brock Road and Smith Station Road. Pavement marking work in conjunction with road launch.

Secondary road rehabilitation

Wednesday – Friday, 7am – 5pm Mobile Lane will be closed on several roads for road resurfacing in the Heatherstone, Oakridge and Woodside subdivisions.
