It would be smart for St. Louis City SC to sell 21-year-old Azil Jackson to the Bundesliga, according to former United States star Taylor Tweman.

  • Jackson is surprised by the city of St. Louis
  • He scored twice in three matches.
  • German teams pay attention to him

what happened? German clubs Bayern Munich, Paderborn and Hannover are said to be tracking the midfielder, who made his debut against St Louis City this season. Jackson impressed in the MLS Next Pro Division with the reserve teams of Minnesota United and St. Louis City.

What did they say? Twelman, who spent two years playing for 1860 Munich in Germany, wrote on Twitter: [Minnesota United] Next pro form but with Lutz connections [Pfannenstiel, St Louis City sporting director] In Germany this is no surprise. It’s a good business if you can get it.”

The big picture: Also making two MLS appearances for St. Louis this season, Jackson made his only start for the club in the US Open Cup, scoring twice in a 5-1 win over Union Omaha in the third round.

What next? Jackson has been sidelined from St. Louis City’s squad for the past three MLS matches, instead returning to MLS Next Pro. He may be part of St. Louis City II’s game against Vancouver Whitecaps II this weekend, but he hopes to call up the senior squad for Sunday’s clash with the Portland Timbers.
