SALISBURY, Md. – The Washington and Lee University women’s track and field team competed at Salisbury University’s East Coast Championships on Saturday. The team finished the regular season with 39 top-8 finishes, 11 event wins and 245.50 points in team scoring.
Quinlin Zunk (Moseley, Va./Cosby) took first in the javelin and discus and fourth in the hammer. 37.20 meters Zunk war mark to no. 3 in the program’s top-5 list.
Camille Gillum (Mountain Brooke, Ala.) took first in the high jump with a personal-best clearance of 1.55 meters. Ashley D’Ambrosia (Henrico, Va. / College School) posted a height of 3.25 meters to win the pole vault and was the third leg of the winning 4x100m relay team. Susanna Unity (Charlottesville, Va./Charlottesville), Jordynn Palethorpe (Barrington, RI / Barrington) and Katelyn gambling (Houston, Texas/Kinkaid School) made up the rest of the relay team and clocked a relay time of 50.65 seconds.
Claire Hamlet (Ridgewood, NJ/Ridgewood) followed with a 5:03.47 and first-place finish in the 1500-meter run, and the Generals finished first-to-eighth in the distance race, seventh.
Parker Longood (Richmond, Va./St. Catherine’s School) was good for second in the 100m hurdles with a time of 17.52 seconds and a personal best long jump of 5.16 meters. In the 100m hurdles, Madelyn Venable (Midlothian, Va. / Midlothian) Second and Amanda Romano (Danville, NJ/Mount Saint Mary’s Academy) placed third. Romano won the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:08:40.
Palethorpe and Kate Scibelli (Canandaigua, New York / Canandaigua) were top winners in the 400m dash and 800m run. Elise Molinaro (East Stroudsburg, PA/East Stroudsburg South) with a time of 19:16.97 in the 5,000m.
The Generals return to action on Sunday, April 30, at the first day of the ODAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
