Sketches of plants in pen and ink. Pen and ink are so much fun! Try it out and introduce yourself to the basics of color application, including line work and stippling using micron pens. Workshop focuses on individual botanical lessons (presented by instructor). Learn the skills and start drawing plant illustrations in this medium with tutor tips to make your drawings more successful. Material list available. Saturday, May 6, 2023 1:00pm to 4:00pm $45 per hour, with a $5 material fee payable to instructor.
How to paint a flower in watercolor with Bivenne Harvey Staiger. Learn to paint a beautiful flower in watercolor at each stage of the painting process, including the basic background and flower details. See how to achieve natural green, black values and different color applications. By the end of the workshop, participants can expect to make a painting as complete as possible. No previous experience is required. Sunday, June 4, 2023 12:30pm to 4:30pm $75. A list of materials will be available during registration.
Fused Glass Plant Stakes Workshop. Participants use their own designs to decorate two plant sticks with a variety of glass friezes and glass pieces. Use special cutters to cut out the necessary shapes to create the wooden designs of the plants. All pieces are glued to the bases and fired by the master and returned to the gallery for pickup within a week. Glass cutting experience is not required. The project can be completed without using cutters. Materials, glasses and equipment will be provided. Sunday, June 11, 2023 1:00pm to 4:00pm $45 per hour with $15 teacher materials fee (includes two garden plots).
Early Summer Fashion Show (Free) Join us for a free Summer Opening Fashion Show featuring designs by Anna Mastropolo, Friday, June 2, 2023 from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm at the Spectrum Art Gallery and Artisan Store. Known for creating recycled designs using embroidery and fabric painting embellishments, Anna uses thrifted and donated clothing from friends and family to create new, modern and contemporary designs that can be worn by all ages. The fashion show will feature 6 models of all sizes, celebrating body positivity, confidence, wearable art and fashion! Wine and snacks will be provided for your enjoyment. Your favorite designs can be purchased through the Spectrum Gallery after the fashion show.
