Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa announced on Monday that the state of Quintana Roo has been nominated for 21 World Travel Awards™. The annual awards recognize outstanding performance across key travel, tourism and hospitality industries.

Along with the Yucatan Peninsula, Quintana Roo is home to hot spots like Cancun, Playa del Carmen, the Cozumel Islands, and several ancient Maya ruins. The state’s natural beauty, beautiful beaches, first class hospitality, air and cruise connectivity are some of the reasons for its nomination.
