Musicians, models, influencers, celebrities—and, of course, music lovers of all kinds—flooded the Southern California desert for the first annual Coca-Cola festival last weekend. Over the years, Coca-Cola has become obsessed with what is known as “festival fashion.” Instead, they opted for tried-and-true shapes and colors for Coachella weekend, giving us a pass to pick out the cozy silhouettes and our own classics that we’ll all be eyeing from afar this summer. Coded, quiet luxury has officially entered the festival grounds.
Of course, we had our favorite looks from the weekend to serve as inspiration for our own summer outfits. Both Rosalia and Blackpink wore ethereal ribbons—Rosalia by custom Acne Studios, and Blackpink by custom Dolce & Gabbana. Rosalia Rose paired her duster with a leather biker jacket—and while we’re not wearing leather in the July heat, Blumarine’s ruffled mini is the perfect, sassy substitute for a Coachella-inspired summer look.
Kicking off Revolve’s 20th anniversary and Coachella week, Kendall Jenner attended the Revolve festival in a white, midi length Alaia dress and strappy, white The Red sandals. A slim skirt and heels aren’t exactly desert-friendly, but they’ll work well on the city streets. In our version of the look, we choose a stretchy shirt, and a slightly more sturdy row of shoes.
Jenner also wore the complete opposite of this look—a black top and pants from Saint Agni—in a more casual outfit to attend the Revolve event at 818.
Emma Chamberlain added some practical touches to her day one outfit. If you are not in the desert at night this summer, you can choose the number of Elena Velez, but keep the pockets.
Teyana Taylor gave us ample energy—this shape is perfect for pairing with a bikini top for summer.
Cali Uchis, who starred alongside Tyler the Creator, Don Toliver and Omar Apollo, gave us all a lesson in how to make micro mini dresses. A pair of matching denim boots completed the look, while summer-appropriate butterfly accessories adorned her dress and hair.
Omar Apollo paired his classic denim and white t-shirt with your borrowed accessories. Grandfather: silk sweater. If you are dreaming of the Italian beach, a watercolor floral Prada scarf will feel appropriate to decorate your head. For a more versatile option, this two-tone totem piece can do double duty as a head, neck or shoulder scarf for those chilly summer nights.
Statement boots are front and center at the festival, even in the desert heat – with models like Adut Akech and Shanina Shaikh both stepping it out in black, western boots and Amelia Gray in lace up combat boots. A short, western-style boot will suffice for summer in the city, unless you’re a fan of tall boots all year round, in which case the Anne Demeulemeester will suit your fancy.
